An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet interceptor Sukhoi Su-9, NATO reporting name Fishpot, in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. The model has engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit with colored belts, an engine with the turbine suggested, nose weight and an optional position of the speed brakes and of the canopy. Auxiliary tanks and guided missiles are included.
The Sukhoi Su-9 was a Soviet single-engine all-weather interceptor of the end of the 1950s, armed with guided missiles. Its triangular, that is delta, wing and the circular nose intake with a movable shock cone were characteristic. The machine was intended for a fast climb and the interception of intruders at high altitude, and it formed part of the Soviet air defense.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Do not forget the enclosed nose weight, otherwise the model will sit down on its tail. A natural metal or light surface will stand out on a smooth, well sanded base. The speed brakes can be built extended and the detail accentuated with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
