A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. The set brings precisely cast exhaust pipes of the round type for the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX fighter in 1:48 scale. It replaces the coarser plastic exhausts from the boxed kit with a more accurate resin casting with hollowed openings. The part is meant for advanced modelers with resin experience.
On a Spitfire the exhausts are very much in view right behind the engine cowling, and their shape shapes the whole character of the model. The round type matches aircraft powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine; the casting captures the hollowed pipe openings that plastic usually only suggests. Once fitted and painted, the engine section looks markedly more realistic.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
