A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. The set of finely cast resin replaces the exhaust pipes of the early versions of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I, Mk.Ia and Mk.IIa fighter in 1:48 scale. These are the oval type of exhaust that matches the early configuration; the resin pipes have a faithful shape, hollowed-out outlets and a fine texture. The set is meant for advanced modelers with resin experience.
The exhausts are clearly visible on the sides of the Spitfire nose, and their shape differed between versions. The early Spitfires of the Battle of Britain period were powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and used exactly this type of exhaust. Hollow outlets and a fine texture look far better after painting in metal and rust shades with a light patina than the solid plastic stubs from the box.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
