Resin blanking caps for the wing machine gun ports, type B, for the Spitfire Mk.IX in 1:48 scale - a detail accessory, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of blanking caps for the wing machine gun ports, in the type B version, for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory. The caps faithfully imitate the covers with which the gun ports in the wing leading edge were closed in service. It is a small but striking feature that sharpens the look of the wing on a finished model. It is made in the Quickboost range from the Czech studio Aires.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most widespread and most successful versions of the legendary British fighter of the Second World War. It was created as an answer to the new German fighters and combined a proven airframe with a powerful engine. The wing gun ports were usually protected on the ground by covers or tape against the ingress of dirt.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, separate them from the casting block and clean them up. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding resin. The caps come into their own once sprayed in the color of the leading edge and the edges gently picked out.
The set does not include the model of the aircraft itself; it serves as an accessory for the matching kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
