This resin set from the maker Aires in 1:48 scale replaces the simplified landing gear bays of a plastic kit with a faithful copy with deepened relief, runs of wiring and wall structure. It is not a standalone model: it is an accessory intended to be built into a kit of the Su-24M. The set suits more experienced modelers who want to take the detail of the lower part of the fuselage and the landing gear to a higher level.
The Sukhoi Su-24 (NATO reporting name Fencer) is a two-seat ground-attack and tactical bomber aircraft with a variable-sweep wing. The crew seats are arranged side by side. The Su-24M version represents a modernization with improved avionics and a navigation and targeting system. The aircraft was powered by two jet engines and entered service with a number of air forces from the 1970s onward.
First wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. The bays are as a rule painted in a light landing gear shade; pre-shading and a light wash are recommended to pick out the rivets and the structure.
This is an add-on resin set for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
