The Su-27 (NATO reporting name Flanker) is a single-seat twin-engine air superiority fighter developed in the Soviet Union. It entered service in the 1980s as an answer to the Western fighters of the day. It is distinguished by long range, striking aerodynamics with extended wing roots and high agility. The pair of powerful engines makes it one of the best known combat aircraft of the Eastern design school and the basis for a whole family of later versions. The production single-seat variant is designated Su-27S; the letter B in the kit name comes from the NATO reporting name Flanker-B.
For the plastic joints use a thin plastic model cement that wicks into the seam. Before painting we recommend a primer, which evens out the surface and reveals any flaws to be sanded down. The light gray camouflage scheme of the Flanker stands out when sprayed with an airbrush and lightly accentuated along the panel lines. Glue the clear canopy only once the interior has been painted, and mask the glazing frame.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
