A set of pre-cut kabuki masks for a 1:48 model of the carrier-borne Su-27K from the manufacturer Minibase. The addition in the name points to the release of the kit with the Kh-41 Moskit anti-ship guided missile. EXPERT is the highest of the three levels in which New Ware runs the set, with BASIC and ADVANCED standing below it. The level sets the range of masking, so EXPERT is the most complete of the three variants. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory to one.
The Su-27K is the carrier-borne variant of the Su-27, later designated Su-33. It differs from the land-based version in its folding wings and tailplanes, a pair of canard foreplanes, strengthened landing gear, an arrestor hook and a retractable probe for in-flight refueling. It was meant to operate from an aircraft carrier with a ski-jump ramp instead of a catapult. The Kh-41 Moskit, known in its naval version as the P-270, is a heavy anti-ship guided missile.
The parts are die-cut on a carrier film. Lift them with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, lay them on a clean, degreased surface and press the edges down firmly with a toothpick. Apply the paint in thin coats and at lower pressure so that it does not run under the edge. On the cockpit glazing the interior color comes first, then the outer shade. Lift the mask off shortly after it has dried, while the layer is flexible, with a pull at an angle to the surface. Plan a wider range of masking in advance and work from the lightest shades toward the darker ones, so that areas do not have to be uncovered and covered again.
This is a masking accessory, not a kit. The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
