Masks for the national insignia and technical lettering for a model of the F-105B/D/F/G Thunderchief in 1:72 scale, intended for the Hasegawa, Monogram and Trumpeter kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief is an American supersonic fighter-bomber of the 1960s. For its day it was an exceptionally large single-engine aircraft, which carried armament in an internal bomb bay as well. The B and D forms are single-seat, the F and G forms two-seat. The type became famous mainly for its deployment over North Vietnam, where it flew against targets defended by dense anti-aircraft defenses. On a model the type is rewarding precisely for its markings, because dark camouflage and bare metal alike carry conspicuous insignia and a dense network of technical lettering.
The set contains masks for spraying the national insignia and technical lettering. The markings are therefore not applied as a decal but sprayed in paint directly onto the model. The carrier film falls away, the edge does not take on a gloss and the lettering follows the surface including the engraving. The masks are pre-cut and intended for F-105 models in 1:72 scale from the Hasegawa, Monogram and Trumpeter companies, so measuring out and cutting from tape fall away.
The masking set alone is supplied. The kit, paints and decals are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
