A photo-etched set of seat belts in steel for a model of the Sukhoi Su-30SM aircraft in 1:48 scale. It will replace the simplified belts in plastic and give the cockpit depth.
Responsibility details are not available.
These are photo-etched metal seat belts for a model of the Sukhoi Su-30SM in 1:48 scale. The package holds a thin metal fret, from which you cut the individual parts out. The STEEL designation in the name says that the fret is made of steel. Steel photo-etched metal is springier than brass and holds a set shape better after bending, so you can fold the end of a belt over the edge of the seat and leave it lying there loose, as it hangs on the real machine as well. The exact make-up of the fret and the number of parts are given by the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
The Su-30SM is a two-seat multirole combat aircraft derived from the Su-27 series. The crew sit one behind the other, so the belts come into their own in both cockpits of the model.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting, or the thin metal will ripple. Make the bends over a sharp edge or in a bending tool, so that they are straight and at the same height. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and use a base coat intended for metal surfaces, as paint holds poorly on bare smooth steel. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minute amount, best with the tip of a toothpick; dispersion glue does not hold on metal.
For the modeler who builds a cockpit with the canopy open and wants the seat not to look empty. The work calls for tweezers and a calm approach, but the result is visible at first glance.
The set serves to complete a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
