A wooden deck 1:700 USS Maryland BB-46 in her 1941 state is an accessory to a ship kit: a self-adhesive veneer with the laying of the planks printed on it for the extensive deck areas of a battleship from the Trumpeter 05769 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but an accessory to a model of a battleship. A wooden veneer with a self-adhesive underside carries the printed laying of the deck planks and will replace the plastic deck part of the Trumpeter 05769 kit. On a battleship the accessory comes into play more than on smaller vessels: the deck areas are expansive and form the dominant part of the view from above, so the difference between painted plastic and real wood is obvious at first sight.
The USS Maryland BB-46 was an American battleship of the Colorado class with the main armament housed in twin turrets. The designation of the year 1941 refers to a particular state of the ship: battleships went through modifications of their superstructures and armament during their service, so the deck is cut for one particular configuration.
On large areas the rule of laying from the center toward the edges holds. Align the veneer along the longitudinal axis of the ship, press it down in the center first and from there work toward the bow, the stern and the sides. Air is forced out in that direction and the material does not ripple. Watch the alignment of the planks, as on a large deck even a slight rotation of the part is in the end visible as a skewed laying. Check as you go, not only once the whole area has been glued down.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The ship kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
