This is not a kit but a small accessory with a large visual impact. The set contains photo-etched seat belts for the cabin of a North American B-25H Mitchell model in 1:32 scale. The STEEL designation in the name refers to the material: against brass, steel is springier and holds its shape once bent, so a strap can be folded over the edge of a seat and left to drape naturally. A molded plastic belt, by contrast, looks like relief on the shell. The particular number of parts and sets is stated on the box.
The North American B-25 Mitchell was a twin-engine medium bomber employed in the Second World War. The B-25H version had a single-pilot cockpit and strengthened gun armament in the nose. On a model in the large 1:32 scale the cabin and the other crew stations are readily open to view, so detail on the seats and the harnesses really tells.
Separate the belts with a scalpel and shape them with smooth-jawed tweezers, so that no marks are left. Bend them gradually over the edge of the seat, not in one sharp movement. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue in minute drops, or with gloss decal varnish, which allows the position to be corrected for a while longer. Do not spray over pre-painted parts, if the set contains them, and do not clean them with solvent; it is enough to bring them out with a dark wash. Degrease unpainted steel and lay a base color under it.
