Photo-etched metal parts for a model of the Sukhoi Su-57 in 1:48 scale. On modern machines photo-etch comes into its own above all where the material is meant to look thin and a plastic part comes out too heavy. The coverage of the set and the placement of the individual parts are given in the enclosed manufacturer's instructions, which you should follow during the build.
The Su-57 is a Russian twin-engine combat aircraft of the newest generation. The design emphasizes a reduction of radar signature, which is reflected in the smooth blending of the fuselage into the wing, the canted vertical tail surfaces and the smooth outer shapes free of unnecessary protrusions. Part of the armament is carried inside the airframe, so that the machine does not break its clean outline with pylons under the wings. The model therefore looks quite different from older jets, and the smooth surfaces positively call for fine detail.
Cut the individual parts out with a sharp blade on a hard surface and clean up the remains of the tabs with a file. Make the bends along the etched grooves, ideally in a bending tool or by pressing against a straight edge. Use super glue in a truly small amount for joining. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and cover it with a coat of primer, so that the finish holds and does not peel off during further handling.
For modelers who build contemporary jets and want to take the detail beyond what the base kit offers. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
