The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V was the most numerously built version of this British fighter and it was powered by a liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine with a supercharger. The cockpit of the Spitfire is rewarding for a modeler: besides a sliding canopy it is also opened up by a hinged door on the left side of the fuselage, so more of the cockpit shows than on most fighters of the day. Whatever detail fits into the cockpit therefore really does stand out on a finished model.

The exact extent of the parts, their breakdown into sub-assemblies and what has to be removed from the kit are given in the manufacturer's instructions; go through them before you start gluing the fuselage halves.
Finish and paint the whole cockpit before you close the fuselage, because afterward you will not reach it. The parts are not polystyrene, so glue the joints with super glue and wash and degrease them before painting. Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little off the part and sand the rest back. On a finished interior, a dark wash in the corners and careful lightening of the edges have proved themselves, so that the small relief stands out even in the weaker light of a display case. Leave the seat belts and the thin levers until the end of the build, as they are the most vulnerable.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
