This is a set of wet decals with markings, not a model. The collection for the two-seat Spitfire trainer brings national insignia, codes and stencils for several specific machines. The decals complete the camouflage or postwar scheme of the chosen plastic Spitfire T.9 kit in 1:48 scale, prepared for the forthcoming Airfix tooling.
The two-seat Spitfire T.9 trainer came about by converting the Mk.IX fighter into an aircraft with a second, raised cockpit. The machines served after the war with a number of air arms and with private operators, and historic examples fly to this day. The sheet offers five schemes, among them machines from India, Ireland, the Netherlands and Great Britain.
The decals are wet: the item is cut out, dipped in water, slid onto the painted surface and settled into place. They are applied over a gloss coat and sealed with a matte coat once dry. The paints and the kit are not included in the package.
