A set of position lights for the Supermarine Walrus in 1:48 scale. Legible navigation lights instead of simplified parts, made by Quickboost.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small accessory for modelers who want legible navigation lights on their Walrus. Quickboost covers one single area with it - the lights on the upper wingtips and on the tail. You build the base model yourself.
The Walrus was a British single-engine amphibious biplane with a pusher propeller and folding wings. It was launched from the catapults of cruisers and battleships, spotted targets for naval gunfire and from 1941 it became known above all in air-sea rescue, picking downed crews out of the English Channel and the North Sea. It stayed in service until the end of the Second World War and then for a while longer in civil markings.
The lights stand out best when you back them with silver paint and only then lay a clear red, green or colorless shade over it - the reflection from underneath gives them depth. The area around the wingtip lights deserves sharp masking, because on the real aircraft the transition between the upper and the lower color runs exactly along the end of the rib. Finally pick the rim out with a thin dark line so that the part does not blend into the skin.
The set is supplied unpainted, without paints and glue.
