A resin set of landing gear bays for the North American T-28 Trojan trainer in 1:48 scale from Aires. It is not an airplane model in its own right but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified gear bays from the kit with faithfully cast parts complete with recesses, stiffeners and plumbing. The result is a markedly more realistic view into the open bays.
The T-28 Trojan was a piston-engine trainer with a radial engine that served for basic and advanced pilot training and, in its armed versions, for light combat support as well. Retractable landing gear with its wheel wells was among the features whose detail plastic molds usually simplify.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand with your airways protected. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before gluing them in, check the fit against the fuselage and the wing of the kit. The inside of the bays is usually in a light shade; bring the details out with a fine wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
