The resin accessory bomb sight doors for the TBD-1 Devastator from the Czech brand Quickboost in 1:48 scale — a part, not a model kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from Quickboost in 1:48 scale offers faithfully cast doors for the bomb sight window of a model of the American Douglas TBD-1 Devastator carrier torpedo bomber. It is not an airplane kit, but a detail part that lets you show the lower sighting window in the open as well as the closed position.
The TBD-1 Devastator was an American carrier torpedo and level bomber of the early Second World War. In level bombing the bombardier lay in the belly of the fuselage and aimed through a bombsight in a window in the lower fuselage, protected by hinged doors. Faithfully made doors let you build the model with the sighting window open and so show its interior.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release agent. Cut the small casting blocks off carefully with a cutter, sand the surfaces gently and protect your breathing when sanding resin. Glue the doors with a light touch of cyanoacrylate glue in the position you want. Apply a primer before painting and bring out the interior with a fine wash.
It is supplied as a resin accessory for experienced modelers, not as a stand-alone kit. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
