Yak-3 Exhausts 1:48 (Quickboost)

A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. Finely cast resin exhausts (exhaust stubs) that replace the plastic parts from the base kit and give the Soviet Yak-3 fighter in 1:48 scale a far more accurate exhaust shape.

The real subject and what the part is for

The Yakovlev Yak-3 was a Soviet light single-seat fighter of the Second World War with a liquid-cooled Klimov V12 engine. It was among the smallest and lightest fighters of the war and excelled in low-level dogfighting. The exhaust stubs of the Klimov V12 are clearly visible along the sides of the nose, and hollow resin outlets with deepened openings look far more convincing than plastic.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue
• Cut off the casting blocks (gates) and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); plastic cement does not hold on resin
• Bring out the exhausts with metallic and rust shades and a dark wash
