A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set refines the air intakes of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-38 (NATO reporting name Forger) carrier fighter in the A version, in 1:48 scale. The resin parts capture the correct shape of the intake ducts and their depth, which the plastic from the box usually renders only shallowly. The set is intended for more advanced modelers with resin experience.
On jet aircraft the intakes are a prominent visual element and their depth and clean shape strongly affect the realistic impression. The Yak-38 was the first Soviet production aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing and served from the decks of the Kiev class aviation cruisers. Faithfully made intakes remove the typical look of a shallow blind hole and give a model authenticity.
