This is a photo-etched brass detail set for sharpening up a plastic model of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-7A fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory meant for the Yak-7A model from ICM in this scale. It adds fine metal features where injection-molded plastic is not enough for convincing detail.
The Yak-7A was a Soviet single-engine fighter of the early part of the Second World War, developed from a trainer version. It served with the Soviet Air Force and became one of the forerunners of the later successful Yak-9 line. A rewarding subject for modelers of the Eastern Front.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a cutting mat and make the bends along the groove, ideally in a bender. They are glued with super glue or epoxy. Degrease the surfaces before gluing, then paint them with a brush or an airbrush. Secure small parts against springing away and work with tweezers over a light-colored surface.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue, paints and the target model are not included in the package.
