This is not an airplane kit but a resin detail set. It replaces the plastic exhaust stubs from the box with more faithful castings with open outlets and fine relief that give the engine section depth and a realistic metal look. The set is intended for models of the Soviet long-range Yak-9D fighter.
The Yak-9D was the long-range variant of the Soviet Yak-9 fighter with larger fuel tanks, meant for escorting bombers and for operations over the front in the Second World War. The rows of exhaust stubs along the sides are among the striking details that catch the eye up close.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and sand them while wearing respiratory protection. Bond them with super glue. Bring out the metal look of the exhausts with a dark base, metallic pigments and rust-brown transitions; darken the outlets so that they read as empty.
This is an accessory set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
