An accessory set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard: a three-dimensionally printed cabin for a model of the Zlin Z-226 Trener training and sport aircraft in 1:48 scale. It replaces the cabin from the base kit with a complete resin insert carrying details that cannot be produced by injection molding into plastic — the structure of the seats, the instrument fittings and the small things on the side walls. It is not a kit of the aircraft. The exact contents of the package and the target kit are not stated here.
The Zlin Z-226 belongs to the family of Czechoslovak training and aerobatic aircraft of the Trener series. It is a low-wing monoplane of mixed construction with fixed landing gear and seats arranged in tandem, built in several versions for training, glider towing and sport aerobatics. Aircraft of this series served with flying clubs for decades and can still be seen at air shows today. Their cabin is glazed along its whole length, so on a model you can see well into it.
First wash the printed parts in lukewarm water with detergent. Cut the supports off with a saw or cutters and level the surfaces by wet sanding, with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, or with epoxy — polystyrene cement will not join resin. Test-fit the cabin into the fuselage halves before painting; sometimes the fuselage walls have to be thinned down. Paint the interior and bring it out with a wash before you close the fuselage.
The set is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
