The set is not a model of the aircraft but pre-cut self-adhesive masks for its glazing in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation means that the sheet contains masks for both sides of the glazing, outer and inner. Thanks to that the interior color can be sprayed onto the inner side of the frames and the cockpit then looks right when seen from inside too, which shows a great deal on a two-seat aircraft with a large canopy. Eduard, a Czech maker from Obrnice near Most, die-cuts the masks from thin kabuki paper, which yields to curves and leaves no adhesive behind once removed.
The Zlin Z-326 Trener Master belongs to the celebrated line of trainer and aerobatic aircraft from Otrokovice. It is a two-seat single-engine low-wing monoplane with an inline Walter Minor engine and retractable landing gear that served for pilot training as well as for competition aerobatics. The machines of this family stayed in service with flying clubs for a long time and remain among the best-known Czech sport aircraft to this day.
Wash and degrease the glazing, otherwise the mask will bleed. Stick the inner masks on first and spray the interior color, and only then close the part up, stick the outer masks on and continue with the base and the top color. Lift the masks out of the sheet with a scalpel, press them down and rub the edges over with a toothpick, above all where the canopy turns into a curve. Spray in thin coats, as a thick coat creates a step on the edge. Remove them soon after they have dried, pulling at an angle along the edge. On clear parts it pays to reach for a cyanoacrylate glue intended for canopies or for a dispersion glue for glazing, because ordinary cement for plastic fogs a clear part.
The set contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
