An aftermarket detail set from the Czech manufacturer CMK, intended to refine the instrument panel in the pilot's cockpit of a model of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory. The set usually combines a resin casting with fine photo-etch.
An accurately drawn instrument panel with detailed dials and panels raises the realism of the cockpit considerably over a simple plastic part. Once painted, and with a drop of clear varnish on the dials if you wish, the panel is one of the most visible elements of the interior.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and separate them from the casting blocks; bend the etched parts exactly along the engraved lines. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Finish the panel before the cockpit is closed and glazed; bring the detail out with a wash and drybrushing.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
