1:35 Wallpapers III (105x160mm) is the third number of the wallpaper line, meant for lining the walls of a model interior.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet with a wall pattern complements the other numbers of the same family and is used wherever the inside of a structure is to be seen. The name carries the 105x160 mm format. The sheet is flat, so it can be bent into a corner or wrapped around a curved wall, which is out of the question with cast cladding. The offcuts can also be used for small things: papering the inside of a cupboard, lining the wall behind a door or making a rolled-up strip lying on the floor.
The largest part of the work lies in cutting the openings accurately. A window and a door frame are best traced by laying the finished wall on the back of the sheet and drawing round it with a fine pencil. Cut inside the outline and fold the overlap into the opening; the joint then disappears. When you join two pieces side by side, run the seams into the corners or behind furniture; in the middle of an open area the eye will always find them.
Leave new wallpaper matte and only hint at a lighter faded band by the windows. An older surface gains credibility from a light glaze in a yellow-brown tone and a shadow at the skirting. Behind a stove and above a radiator a dark veil of soot works well, applied as dry pigment with a soft brush. A picture or a mirror taken down from the wall, by contrast, leaves a light rectangle with a sharp outline, because the protected area did not fade. Such a detail takes a few seconds and gives the scene a story of its own.
