An illustrated guide to the Ju 87 D is a further part of the References line from the publisher Kagero. The customer gets a printed item, not a kit; the supplement consists of a decal sheet in the two scales the name mentions.
The Ju 87 D was a reworked form of the famous Stuka. It received the more powerful Jumo 211 engine, a smoother and better-shaped nose, newly arranged cabin glazing and more effective armor. It was used mainly on the Eastern Front and in the Mediterranean theater from 1942 on, and not only for dive bombing but also for carrying cargo and for attacks on ground targets. For modelers the D series is interesting because varied winter and desert finishes appeared on it that the older versions did not have, and because a fair number of period photographs survive.
The booklet will be appreciated by anyone building a Stuka who wants the finish and the markings backed by a pictorial source. It will also serve a collector of small aviation titles, though, because the illustrated section and the drawings of the finish have value in themselves even when you are not building anything. The slim extent means the title can be gone through in a single evening.
