A resin replacement barrel for the main cannon of the Israeli Merkava Mk.2D tank in 1:35 scale from Firma49. It is a detail accessory that replaces the split plastic barrel from the base kit. The replacement barrel is concentric and has no parting seam, so once assembled it looks more faithful and holds its shape better.
Plastic barrels tend to be split into two halves and joining them leaves a seam that has to be laboriously filled and sanded down. A resin barrel does away with that work and sharpens the geometry and the muzzle of the cannon. The Merkava Mk.2 carried a 105 mm cannon; the shape of the barrel matches this variant.
The accessory contains the resin barrel only. The base model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
