A set of self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Art Scale (ASK) in the large 1:32 scale for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F-2 or F-4 fighter aircraft. These are single-sided masks in the express fit style: they are precut and seat quickly on the glazing and the other masked surfaces. They are neither decals nor a kit.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109F, nicknamed the Friedrich, was an aerodynamically cleaned-up version of the legendary German fighter and was considered by many pilots the best-handling one. The F-2 and F-4 versions differed mainly in armament and were among the mainstays of the Luftwaffe in 1941 and 1942. The large 1:32 scale puts the emphasis on the quality of the masking of the glazed cockpit.
Lift the masks off the sheet, stick them onto clean glazing and the masked parts according to their shape, and press the edges down carefully against paint seeping under. Apply thin coats with an airbrush and lift the masks off in good time once the paint is dry. The set is cut for Bf 109F-2/F-4 models in this scale; check the fit on the particular glazing before sticking them on.
These are painting masks (an accessory), not a model of an aircraft. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
