About product

AML 1:144 resin set Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina Black Cat

This resin set (not a kit) in 1:144 scale from AML serves to refine a miniature model of the Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina amphibious flying boat in the American night variant nicknamed the Black Cat. The cast parts capture the characteristic features of the real subject with a crispness that plastic can hardly offer in this scale.

Use

  • Wash the parts clean of the remains of mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off finely.
  • Because of the small dimensions, work with tweezers, a sharp knife and a magnifier.
  • Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and check the fit before fixing anything.
  • The Black Cats carried an all-black night finish, which is brought to life well on a model by fine weathering.

Who it is for

For collectors of 1:144 miniatures who want a faithful night Catalina of the US Navy. Given the small parts, the work suits more experienced modelers.

The set is supplied as resin castings, unpainted and without glue. Ventilate and protect your airways when sanding resin.
