Masking stencils for spraying the camouflage and the insignia onto the Renault FT tank in 1:16 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Renault FT, commonly also given under the designation FT-17, is a French light tank from the end of the First World War and at the same time the machine with which today's form of the tank begins: it has a rotating turret with the weapon, the engine at the rear and the driver at the front. The crew consisted of two men and at the rear there was a tail skid, which helped in crossing a trench. Vehicles of that time wore multicolor camouflage in which the color fields tended to be separated by a dark outline, so the pattern comes across more as painting than as spraying.
Die-cut stencils for 1:16 scale, both for the boundaries of the color fields of the camouflage and for the insignia. In a large scale both are essential: the areas are extensive, the eye will detect every irregularity on them and the outline between the fields is hard to draw freehand.
Proceed color by color: spray the first shade, let it cure, fit the stencils and only then add the next. Press the edges of the stencils down along their whole length, and at riveted joints and the edges of the hull piece by piece. Apply the paint thinly and in several passes. Take the stencil off as soon as the paint has set. The dark outline between the fields, if you want it on your subject, leave until the very end, so that the edge of the stencil is not imprinted into it.
For builders of large scales who are building the Renault FT and want the camouflage and the insignia sprayed cleanly. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
