The same pixel finish of the Su-27, but for a large model in 1:32. The bigger format brings more comfortable shapes and at the same time a substantially larger area that has to be covered.
Responsibility details are not available.
In 1:32 the airframe of the Su-27 measures over sixty-eight centimeters in length and more than forty-five in span. It is a model that cannot be hidden among the others - and precisely for that reason every unfinished edge of the finish stands out twice as much on it.
Going from 1:48 up to 1:32 means an increase in area of roughly two and a half times. The individual color squares do grow to about eight millimeters, which cut film finds decidedly pleasant, but neither their total number nor their extent gets any smaller. So the work does not diminish, it only moves elsewhere: instead of a struggle for the legibility of tiny edges it becomes patience in covering long stretches of wing and spine.
In 1:32 a whole range of limitations that the builder of smaller models puts up with cease to apply. Elements that at a smaller reduction fall below the limit of what a stencil can do come out here at one to two millimeters and can be sprayed. A color transition also has enough room to look like a real transition and not like a line.
The large format is forgiving of the builder's work, but an extensive area calls for an even deposit, otherwise a difference in saturation will show across the whole wing. It is worth mixing a larger quantity of paint at once and spraying a whole field in one go. The film is removed in sections and it is a good idea to note their order in advance. Plastic parts and paint shades are not included in the package.
