1:48 Czech Frog Su-25 Frogfoot Demo Camouflage Paint Masks Set

The real subject

The Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot is a Soviet ground-attack aircraft built for work low over the battlefield: subsonic, rugged and with an armored cockpit. It flew in Czech colors as well and enjoys steady favor among modelers, because it is a machine with a strong silhouette and with large smooth surfaces on which camouflage stands out. That is exactly why it is worth giving the spraying more care on it than on a more broken-up aircraft.

What the masks solve

The set covers the fields of the demonstration scheme that the name gives under the nickname Frog. Demonstration finishes differ from ordinary camouflage in working with larger and bolder shapes that run across the whole fuselage and wing. Such a design is hard to repeat freehand and any asymmetry shows on a finished model at first glance. Cut masks make sure that the borders come out where they should, and the same on both halves of the model.

Usage tips

• The masks are stuck onto the cured coat of the previous color, that is before spraying the next one.
• Degrease the surface; on greasy paint a mask will not hold and the paint bleeds under.
• Press the edge down along its whole length; on curved surfaces lay the mask in stages and do not stretch it.
• Spray perpendicular to the edge and lightly, as a sideways spray drives the paint under the edge.
• Lift the mask as soon as the paint has set, pulling it back at an angle across the surface.

Terms of supply

The masks alone are supplied. A model, paints and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. The masks are cut to the shapes of a particular kit, so check the compatibility and the order of the shades in the manufacturer's data and instructions.
