A replacement decal sheet for the Datsun 240Z from the 1971 Safari Rally in 1:12 scale completed with the logos that were missing from the original sheet.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet replaces the markings of the large 1:12 model of the Datsun 240Z in its form from the East African Safari Rally of 1971. The maker designed it anew and added to it the logos that were missing from the original sheet enclosed with the kit. The decals are printed with digital technology and are applied from water; instructions with the placing are included.
The nineteenth running of the East African Safari Rally ended in a triumph for the Japanese brand. The car with start number 11 in the hands of Edgar Herrmann and Hans Schüller finished first overall, and two further Datsuns took second and seventh place. Herrmann thereby followed on from his victory of the previous year and became the first driver to master the event twice in a row. The sports coupe with its inline six-cylinder engine thus showed that it could stand up to even the hardest African routes.
A large scale is kinder during application than a small one, but the areas of markings are sizeable here, and so they break easily. Cut them with a minimal margin, soak them briefly and carry them with the backing paper right to the place. Leave a thin layer of water under the film, which you press out with a soft squeegee from the center toward the edges. Seal the dried markings with varnish.
