Extended landing flaps for the Lockheed P-3C Orion patrol aircraft in 1:144 scale are cast in resin and replace a section of the plastic wing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings cast landing flaps in the extended position for the four-engine patrol aircraft. A section of the plastic wing is replaced with them; the finished model then comes across as a machine in slow flight low over the water, that is, exactly as this type is usually photographed.
The Orion grew out of a four-engine transport aircraft whose fuselage the designers shortened and supplemented with a bomb bay, pylons under the wings and a long boom in the tail with a magnetic anomaly detector. The C version brought digital processing of the data from deployed sonobuoys and became the most widespread form of the type. The machine has served since the 1960s and a number of countries keep it in operation to this day, because it joins long endurance with the ability to carry heavy armament.
Look the castings over against the light and fill any bubbles with putty. Lead the cut into the wing along the engraved outline and keep trying the fit dry. Glue the resin with cyanoacrylate, make good the joint and engrave the panel lines again. Finally go over the surfaces with fine sandpaper, so that primer lies on them smoothly.
The kit of the aircraft itself has to be obtained separately.
