The supplier lists the figure as a rank-and-file rifleman. The maker, the French brand BlackSnake Model, prints the figures three-dimensionally with a very fine layer step, so even small things such as the buckles of the straps show on the model. Every position of the line has a pose and a layout of equipment of its own, so the figures do not overlap.
The commandos went ashore with a load that seems unimaginable today: besides a weapon and ammunition, a pack, engineer stores and often parts of heavy weapons divided among the squad. The burden exceeded a third of their body weight. That is exactly why the figures of this unit have the characteristic forward lean and taut straps that give the weight away. The layout of the load moreover differed from man to man.
The surface after printing tends to be smooth, but it pays to mat it down so that the base color holds. Use a shade on the equipment noticeably different from the uniform, otherwise the silhouette merges. The leather of the straps takes a light sheen, the fabric does not. Build the face up on the finished figure and set it only at the very end with a dark tone in the eye sockets.
One unpainted figure is supplied to be assembled, without a base and without paints.
