The second figure of the Vietnam line, 1:35 MACV SOG Soldier Vietnam 02, is a single figure in 1:35 scale in printed resin.
Responsibility details are not available.
Number two continues a line focused on American special operations in Southeast Asia. The figure is cast from resin and is intended to be assembled and painted. The individual numbers differ from one another in the attitude of the body and the layout of the equipment, not in a name.
They went into action what was called sterile: without badges, without name tapes, often in uniforms of an unusual cut and with equipment put together at each soldier's own discretion. A favorite was the tiger stripe camouflage pattern with dense dark stripes, which behaves differently in thick growth from the regular American scheme. It is precisely this freedom in equipment that makes the unit a rewarding subject for figure modelers. Photographs of the period show all sorts of combinations of shirts, belts and bags, so in building it you are not tied to a single original.
You work from a light olive base, over which come thin dark green and finally brown-black stripes running at right angles to the body and broken where the cloth changes direction. Choose a brush with a sharp tip and paint that is on the thin side. A final glaze unifies the whole pattern, so that it does not look drawn on.
The material is raw resin, so count on cleaning it up and sanding the traces of the supports down.
