The modern French paratrooper 1:35 1st RPIMA French SAS 01 opens a line of operators of the elite regiment. A resin casting, one figure to be finished.
Responsibility details are not available.
The formation the figure represents traces its traditions to two parachute battalions of Free France which during the Second World War served alongside the British SAS. That is where the abbreviation in the name comes from, and the French still use it as an honorary designation. The figure, however, depicts the unit as it is today, that is a soldier in present-day combat equipment, not a paratrooper of the 1940s.
The casting comes from the French workshop BlackSnake Model and is produced by high-resolution printing from resin. The package holds one figure in 1:35 scale, supplied with no paint and unassembled. The manufacturer offers seven separate numbers of this line in all, so a whole patrol can be put together as well.
Resin is harder and more brittle than plastic, so trim the broken-off supports in small pieces rather than in one stroke. Before applying the base, wash the casting in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let it dry out thoroughly. Build the present-day camouflage pattern from the top down, so that the darkest patches stay in the shadows of the folds and the upper surfaces come out lighter.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted; you obtain glue and paints separately.
