Number twelve extends the line BlackSnake Model devoted to today's French army. The resin casting is sold on its own and is prepared so that the modeler can start work on it right away.
A vehicle with no people looks like an exhibit in a display case; with a single figure beside it, it turns into a scene. From the man the viewer judges the size of the machine, gets his bearings in height and understands what is happening in the scene. With present-day equipment this matters all the more, as armored cars are angular and their size is hard to judge without a guide to the scale.
A face in this scale measures only a few millimeters, so the main work is done by contrast, not by drawing. Apply a medium skin tone, add a warm shade into the hollows and a lighter shade on the forehead, the nose and the cheekbones. Suggest the eyes with a dark line rather than anything more; pronounced whites look unnatural in a small scale. Try the whole procedure as a trial run on some spare piece, so that you have the skin shade mixed before you start on the head itself.
The figure arrives with no coat of paint and with no base, ready for work of your own.
