A figure of a Ukrainian soldier in 1:16 scale, carrying the serial number 03 within the line. The large scale gives room for detailed painting of the equipment and of the face.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure captures a Ukrainian soldier and carries the serial number 03, so it belongs to a wider line of figures. The 1:16 scale is a large one among figures: an adult figure comes out at roughly eleven centimeters. At such a size the cut of the equipment, the run of the straps and the features of the face stand out, all of which are lost in smaller scales.
The 1:16 size matches large models of equipment including radio-controlled tanks, next to which the figure serves as a comparison of scale. It works just as well on its own on a base or in a small scene of one or two figures. The larger the scale, the more the quality of the painting shows on the finished work, and the more rewarding such a figure is for practicing smooth transitions and shading.
Before painting, rid the surface of dust and of grease from the fingers, otherwise the paint does not hold and peels off during handling. A base layer proves itself, with the basic tones on top of it and only then the shading and the lightening in thin layers; in a large scale every sharp transition is recognized at first glance. Leave the face and the hands until the end, when you have the tones of the equipment matched and know how strongly you want to bring the contrast out. The particular procedure for preparing and joining the parts is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
For modelers who want a figure large enough for painting in detail, and for collectors of present-day military subjects. Prepare the paints and the glue separately, unless stated otherwise.
