1:32 A5M Claude Seat with starting handle - 3D print is a resin seat from 3D printing for models of the Japanese carrier fighter A5M.
Responsibility details are not available.
This 3D printed part replaces the seat in the cockpit of the Japanese carrier fighter Mitsubishi A5M in 1:32 scale. The tripod of the starting handle, which early versions carried right in the cockpit, is part of the casting as well. The maker Art Scale lists the set as a direct replacement for the original part, with no need to intervene in the surrounding plastic.
The A5M first flew in the middle of the 1930s and became the first monoplane fighter the Imperial Japanese Navy put on the decks of its aircraft carriers. It had fixed landing gear with spatted wheels, an open cockpit and exceptional agility, paid for by modest armament. Over China from 1937 it long met no equal opponent, and its designer Jiro Horikoshi built the later, more famous type on the experience gained from it. The Allies assigned the aircraft the code name Claude.
For modelers who are building a large cockpit with the canopy open and want detail in it that injection-molded plastic will not offer. It stands out especially well once a seat harness is fitted and the edges are accentuated with a dry brush.
