A light earth is a color few modeling workshops can do without. It suits the camouflage of vehicles and aircraft from desert and southern theaters, it serves as a base for dust on the running gear and the fenders, and it works equally well on the terrain of a diorama, where it makes worn ruts and dry soil. The lighter position of the shade is an advantage: it can be darkened at any time with a wash or a filter, whereas soil that is too dark can no longer be lightened on the model.
It is a paint from the Aqua line by Mr.Paint. It suits spraying as well as brush work and is used on plastic, resin and photo-etched parts, provided the surface has been degreased and primed beforehand.
Stir the paint thoroughly before work, because earth shades hold a lot of pigment and it settles at the bottom. For thinning use the thinner the manufacturer recommends for this line. Spray in several thin coats instead of one heavy one, otherwise the rivets and panel lines will disappear. Before masking, let the coat cure thoroughly, not merely dry to the touch. Wash the brush right after work; dried paint is hard to get out of the bristles.
For builders of military vehicles, aircraft and dioramas who want an earth palette at hand in a single line and want to mix it with other shades of the same brand. Thinner, primer and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
