Mr.Paint MRP Aqua Middle Stone — water-thinnable acrylic, 17 ml

A modeling paint from the Slovak maker Mr.Paint from the water-thinnable MRP Aqua acrylic line. It is neither a lacquer nor an alcohol-based paint — it is a water-based acrylic, thinned with water or the thinner of the same acrylic line, and it has a low odor to work with. It comes in a 17 ml bottle with a dropper cap, so it can easily be dosed drop by drop straight into the airbrush cup. The shade Middle Stone is a sandy ocher color that the Royal Air Force used as part of its desert camouflage scheme in North Africa and the Mediterranean; it is typically combined with a dark earth color on the upper surfaces. The paint is suitable for the airbrush and for brushwork.

Use

• Airbrushing — mix the paint and thin it as needed with water or the acrylic thinner of the same line to a spraying consistency.
• Brushwork — work in thin coats and let them dry; several light coats hold better than one heavy one.
• The desert camouflage of British machines — the basic sandy ocher tone of the upper surfaces.
• Camouflage and detail painting of vehicles, figures and dioramas, wherever a sandy, ocher or sandy earth tone fits.
• Clean and degrease the surface before painting and use a primer — a water-based acrylic then holds better.
• Tighten the bottle carefully before closing so the paint does not dry in the neck; flush the airbrush right after work, while the paint is fresh.
