A photo-etched metal set for the cockpit of a model of the L-29 Delfin jet trainer, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The L-29 Delfin was the very first jet aircraft developed in Czechoslovakia and from the 1960s it became the standard trainer of the air forces of the Eastern Bloc. A two-seat cockpit with the pupil in front and the instructor behind, a rugged structure and easy handling made it the type on which whole generations of pilots learned. As a model the Delfin keeps its following thanks to the colorful schemes of training units.
Accessory photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale intended for the cockpit, as the word interior in the name suggests. They serve to replace or complete the plastic parts wherever plastic would be too thick. Which particular parts of the cockpit the set covers is shown in the instructions from the manufacturer.
First go through the instructions and think the order through, as the cockpit is finished before the fuselage is glued together. Separate the parts with a sharp blade pressed against the fret, do not tear them off. Make the folds along the scored lines, ideally in a photo-etch bender. Use cyanoacrylate glue applied with a wire, or a two-component epoxy; cement for polystyrene will not bond with metal. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer, otherwise the coat will flake off.
The set belongs to modelers who consider the cockpit the most important part of a model and want it to be faithful even seen through the glazing. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
