In a modeling palette black is a shade that is rarely used on its own over a large area, but without which a build cannot do. It serves as an undercoat beneath dark finishes, as a base for shading before the opaque color is laid on, and as an additive with which other shades are darkened toward the shadows. It also suits small items such as rubber parts, openings, interiors and gaps, where a clean dark area with no reflected sheen is needed.
Stir the contents thoroughly before use, so that pigment settled at the bottom is distributed through the whole volume. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, and with this line use the thinner intended for it. Apply the paint in several thin layers and let them become tack-free; one heavy layer runs into the engraving and hides the detail you wanted to keep on the model.
The paint will be used by anyone who builds figures, vehicles and aircraft and needs a reliable black in the palette. It comes into play for the base coat of small parts just as much as for mixing custom shades, where it helps to have a black from the same maker as the rest of the line in use.
The package contains the paint. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
