1:72 decals for the night fighter Mosquito in the NF.30 version.
Responsibility details are not available.
Its wooden structure made the Mosquito one of the most adaptable aircraft of the Second World War. It served as a fast bomber, a reconnaissance aircraft and an attack machine, but it worked longest and most successfully in exactly the night fighter role, where its speed combined with room for bulky equipment in the nose. The materials used also made it possible to bring furniture workshops into production, which would have achieved nothing with a metal structure.
The NF.30 took the whole line furthest. It received two-stage supercharged engines, which finally opened up high altitudes to it, and a centimetric radar hidden under a rounded nose radome instead of the usual glazing. The crew could therefore pursue an opponent even where the older variants ran out of breath. The aircraft were used to protect bomber streams, lying in wait for German night fighters in the area of their own airfields, and after the war they flew for a number of years more with other European users. It was the most numerous night version of the whole type.
The rounded nose radome is curved in two directions and a decal will not lie down on it by itself. Either cut it into wedges or use a decal softener and press the surface down gradually with a cotton swab. Patience pays off, because repairing a buckled print on this part of the model is practically impossible and a spare for the decal is generally not to be found on the sheet.
