Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed resin and 3D-printed set of the radial engine of the Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from SBS Model. The set is aimed at more experienced modelers and serves as a faithful replacement for the engine of an injection-molded Wildcat kit. It is not a stand-alone airplane model: you add the engine to your own kit in the same scale, which the manufacturer identifies as the Academy one. The detail of the radial engine brings the nose of the fuselage to life, especially with the cowling flaps open.
The Grumman F4F Wildcat was an American carrier fighter of the early Second World War, flown above all in the Pacific. It was powered by the air-cooled Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engine. The F4F-4 version had folding wings and heavier armament so that it would serve better on the decks of aircraft carriers.
Wash the parts first, cut the print supports away carefully and clean them up with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Lay down a primer before painting; fine washes and dry brushing will bring out the cylinder heads and the plumbing of the radial engine.
This is a detailed engine set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
