1:48 Curtiss Hawk 75 A-3 - 3D printed engine set from the maker SBS Model is a resin accessory with a faithful replica of the radial engine for a model of this prewar fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of the aircraft, but a detailed 3D printed resin engine set for a model of the Curtiss Hawk 75 A-3 fighter in 1:48 scale. The set captures the radial engine with a fine drawing of the cylinders and the ancillaries and is intended to bring the forward fuselage of a model to life. The maker is the Hungarian SBS Model.
A model with the engine exposed looks far more alive than a closed cowling. 3D printing makes it possible to capture the finning of the cylinders and the small ancillaries with a sharpness beyond the reach of injection-molded plastic. The set can be used for display with the cowling open or for a diorama scene of maintenance.
Separate the parts from the print supports, wash them and clean them up (with your breathing protected). It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the engine in metallic and dark shades, set the wiring apart and bring the detail out with a wash; a primer helps before painting.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
