A collectible figure of a battle robot from a Japanese robot series. It is sold finished; it is not a kit to be glued.

This piece belongs among collectible figures, that is among the things you buy for how they look on a shelf and not for the evenings spent at the cutting mat. The difference against a kit is fundamental: there is no preparing of parts, no sanding of seams and no hunting for the tweezers under the table.
The motif is a piloted battle machine from an extensive Japanese storytelling world in which human conflicts are played out through giant machines controlled from within. The genre has decades of development behind it and a visual language of its own: angular armor surfaces, pronounced division of color and a head with a pair of antennas, by which the machines of this family are recognized at first glance.
Colored plastics darken in direct sunlight, so a cabinet by a window is not the best choice. Remove dust from the intricate surface with a soft brush or an air blower, not with a cloth, which catches in the edges. If the figure stands in a pronounced pose, check its stability; with shapes like these the center of gravity tends to sit farther back, and standing tilted for a long time can load the joints.
