MH models Avia S-199 Erla, airbrush mask of Czechoslovak markings 1:48 is a stencil for spraying the national insignia and markings instead of decals on a model of the Czech postwar fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking stencil in 1:48 scale from MH models for spraying the Czechoslovak national markings on a model of the Avia S-199 fighter with the Erla type canopy. The markings are laid down directly in paint with an airbrush, which gives sharp and durable insignia with no risk of decals silvering. According to the name, the stencil is intended for the Eduard kit.
The Avia S-199 was a Czechoslovak postwar fighter that came about by joining the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 with the Junkers Jumo engine that was available. Its uneven handling earned it the nickname Mezek, meaning mule. The aircraft is also famous for becoming the first fighter of the newly formed Israeli Air Force (IAF) in 1948. The variant with the Erla canopy had lighter bubble type glazing with a better view.
First spray the base color of the marking (usually a light one), transfer the mask of the insignia, press it down and spray over it with the color of the insignia. With a multicolor marking, work layer by layer. Take the mask off once it is dry. The edges from a mask beat even a good decal.
This is a masking stencil, not a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
