A short-run injection-molded plastic kit of the Polish PZL TS-8 Bies trainer in 1:72 scale from Answer Plastic Kits. It is a newer mold supplemented with photo-etched parts, mainly for the cockpit area, and with several 3D-printed details. Short-run molds have coarser gates and call for more careful clean-up and fitting of the parts, which is why the build suits more experienced modelers. Check the exact contents on the box itself.
The PZL TS-8 Bies was a Polish single-engine trainer that first flew in the 1950s and served to train pilots into the 1970s. It was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with a piston radial engine and the instructor and pupil seats in tandem. About two hundred and fifty machines were built in several batches.
Clean the parts from a short-run mold carefully first and try the fit dry. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and the photo-etched and 3D-printed parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the cockpit with its photo-etch before the fuselage is closed and mask the glazing; lay the paints on with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
